You’ve Got Questions - I’ve Got Answers
DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERRAL OR PRESCRIPTION FOR PHYSIOTHERAPY?
No. Physiotherapists are regulated health professionals and therefore you do not need a doctor’s referral. We do encourage open communication with your doctor(s) and you can let us know at your first visit if you would like them to be included in your correspondence. Some extended health care plans require a physician’s note to have physiotherapy expenses reimbursed.
HOW LONG WILL MY PHYSIOTHERAPY APPOINTMENT LAST?
We always schedule our initial assessments for 60 minutes. Depending on the nature of your injury the subsequent visits can range from 30 minutes up to one hour in length. The number and length of follow-up visits will be discussed at your initial assessment.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT MY FIRST PHYSIOTHERAPY APPOINTMENT?
At the first physiotherapy appointment, your physiotherapist will take a full history, complete various assessment measures, and provide initial treatment. Once the assessment is complete your physiotherapist will collaborate with you to create a program that is tailored to your specific needs and goals. This will be discussed in detail with you during your initial visit.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY PHYSIOTHERAPY APPOINTMENT?
It is important to be comfortable and to wear clothes that allow for movement. Shorts, t-shirts, sport pants, and good supportive footwear work well.
IS PHYSIOTHERAPY COVERED BY INSURANCE?
We can bill directly for all Motor Vehicle cases. Your physiotherapy and massage visits may also be covered under your extended health insurance. We are able to direct bill for many extended health plans. For more details, visit our insurance page.
ARE YOUR SERVICES COVERED BY WSIB?
We treat clients under the WSIB Serious Injury Program. We will work closely with your nurse practitioner to secure approval and provide personalized care.
ARE YOUR SERVICES COVERED BY OHIP?

IS PARKING AVAILABLE?

CAN I GET TREATMENT AT HOME OR IN THE COMMUNITY?
