Boxing for Balance is a non-contact, adapted boxing program designed specifically for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease. Sessions combine punching drills on heavy bags and focus mitts with footwork, balance training, core work, and functional strength exercises. The program includes elements of LSVT, boxing technique, and input from current research and our experienced physiotherapists. The goals of the program are to improve balance, gait, coordination, reaction time, strength, posture, vocal projection, and confidence — all areas commonly affected by Parkinson’s.

Why boxing for Parkinson’s disease?

Parkinson's disease can affect balance, walking, posture, coordination, reaction time, strength, and confidence. Exercise is recognized as an important part of managing Parkinson's and helping people maintain their independence and quality of life. Boxing movements challenge balance, coordination, footwork, posture, strength, agility, and reaction time while also engaging the brain through concentration, memory, and decision-making tasks.
