Joined Balance in 2021
Bernice graduated with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Toronto in 2021, after receiving a Bachelors degree in Bio-Medical Sciences from the University of Guelph. She believes in taking an individualized and exercise-focused approach to her physiotherapy practice, grounded in education and empowerment of clients to take an active role in their rehabilitation.
Throughout her training, Bernice has worked with clients in spinal cord injury rehabilitation, amputee rehabilitation, private practice orthopaedics and acute care, where she has treated a wide variety of clients with complex neurological and orthopedic conditions. Her postgraduate education includes obtaining her level 1 certification in manual therapy, and she aims to pursue further training in acupuncture and neurological physiotherapy (Bobath and NDT) techniques.
Outside of work, Bernice enjoys staying active through rock climbing, yoga and spending time in the outdoors hiking and camping. She is also an avid foodie – frequently researching and seeking out new and interesting food spots to try around the GTA. Bernice has working proficiency in Cantonese and French.
